Despite being one of the easiest pets to obtain, the Poultry is by far the least popular pet in Rappelz. This is because the Poulty is based on dealing damage with high Accuracy. This allows the Poultry to hit monsters that are a higher level than it with some degree of ease, but the Poultry's low hit points and defense, along with a subpar P.atk have earned it a title of a "useless pet".
Granted, a strong base Accuracy can prove useful, but it is very situational. That, coupled with Poultry's damage output being lower than that of a Pantera, and Defense being lower than that of a Tortus make it the weakest Basic Pet.
It does have a P.acc Debuff, a Blind, and a Stun, but that doesn't mean much because so many other pets have similar debuffs and skills.
The Poultry is somewhat like a poor man's Cerberus. At the same time this pet is unique since you can't get another equal pet without jumping to Cerberus Tier which is hard to obtain. Staging made this basic pet a very powerful and useful one at stage 5.
Empty Poultry cards can be purchased from a Merchant NPC.
The recommend build for a Poultry is that of a mix of passives and actives that are based on the class of its owner. The Accuracy buff provided by the Unity is an excellent use of skill points and should be maxed, as almost all classes benefit from increased Accuracy.
The Poultry can make an effective damage-dealing pet if it is skilled specifically for that purpose. Because Poultries have a naturally high dexterity, longbows make excellent weapons for them. For a damage-dealing build, invest in attack skills (especially Peck, Poultry Crow, and later Poultry Blast), Blessing of Dexterity, and Awakening: P.Atk. The skill attacks are further enhanced by the high base P.Atk of longbows.
A dirk can also be used on Poultries for high damage output. With a dirk, it is recommended to invest JP into Awakening: P.Atk, Blessing of Strength, and Fighter Unit: Dirk. Skill attacks such as Peck and Poultry Crow are not recommended for dirks. This build focuses on the high attack speed of the dirk as well as the extra crit ratio, which is further enhanced for staged Poultries which have access to the Poultry Apport skill.
The Poultry is a poor tank pet, and, while skills such as Blessing of Vitality, Bless the Body, and Awakening: P.Def can help compensate for its naturally low durability, it is recommended to focus spending skill points on offensive skills and the unity in order to make the Poultry an effective damage-dealing pet.
Skills which are best avoided are Vital Unit: Hunter Armor and Sharp Vision. Using warrior armor gives much greater performance than hunter armor, even with this skill. Poultries naturally have very high accuracy, making Sharp Vision less useful.
