The hotbar is located on the bottom of the game screen. You will notice that you have 2 bars, the left one has slots for keys F1-F12 while the right bar has slots for Ctrl+F1-F12. You may also hold down Alt or Shift for 2 more right-hand bars, this allows you to have many easy access buttons, so don't be afraid to put things in those slots.
