Auto attack
Rappelz Wiki is dedicated to players of Rappelz Epic 6: Navislamia.
Pet active attack skills (not healing or buff skills) can be configured to automatically activate as soon as the cool down timer has reached zero.
To enable this feature drag the skill of interest (see also: tweaking the level of a skill on a hot-key bar) to the summoned creature hot-key bar. Then right click on the icon for that attack skill in that hot-key bar. The icon glows to indicate it is enable for auto attack. Right click a second time to deactivate auto attack.
This works only for active attack skills and will not work for healing or buff spells.
[edit] Caveat
There are some circumstances and certain attack skills for which auto attack is not recommended. Perhaps the most notorious is during party play and it seems to be limited to those pet attack skills that deliver damage over time (a.k.a. DOT) to a targeted mob. One symptom of using auto attack in this situation is that other players observing the target mob may see a phenomenon commonly referred to as "corpse-lag".
- Corpse lag
- After the mob is dead the mob's health gauge may continue to show non-zero health when observed by other party members or indeed any onlookers. When you observe the mob's health gauge it may show zero health and the mob may appear collapsed to the ground! That is because your client instantly updates your graphics with the DOT damage delivered by your auto-attacking pet. Other players observing the mob must wait for your client to communicate with the game server and the game server to push a refresh out to all other player's clients in that same map area.
- Sometimes this delay before the health gauge updates at another player's game client can be several seconds! The undesired effect of this corpse-lag is that party members may be targeting the mob and trying to attack it for some time after that mob is no longer a real threat to themselves or to the party. That player's wasted effort could be fatal to them (if they have an add attacking them) or to your entire party if enough members are experiencing this corpse-lag.
- So be sure to discuss pet auto attack usage and make an agreement among your fellow party members if you think you may have observed corpse-lag. There are many players who do not know about it or who do not fully understand it.
